BECOMING A DEMOCRATIC STATE CONVENTION DELEGATE

2008

 

  • There will be 2325 Delegates to the 2008 Democratic State Convention.

 

  • The number of delegates and the county apportionment of delegates was

determined and approved by the State Central Committee in August 2007.

 

  • Delegates are elected by voters on Primary Election Day – May 6, 2008.

or

After Primary Day, Party County Chairpersons appoint registered party members to fill vacant delegate slots.

 

 

To File as a State Convention Delegate

You MUST be registered to vote and run in your own Party. 

January 23rd is the first day a declaration of candidacy for a state convention delegate can be filed.

            *           Complete the form declaring your delegate candidacy.

*           Submit the form and have it notorized in person at your County Clerk’s Office in the Court House.

            *           Have your form filed before the February 22nd noon deadline.

 

If Disqualified or not elected to State Convention Delegate

Contact your County Chairperson the day after the Primary.  Request appointment as a delegate or alternate to a vacant slot in your county – if one exists.
