Statement from Indiana Democratic Party Chair Dan Parker on President Obama's nomination of Sonia Sotomayor
Indiana Democratic Party Chair Dan Parker issued the following statement after President Obama announced his selection of Sonia Sotomayor as his nominee to the United States Supreme Court:
"Hoosiers should be proud that President Obama nominated a highly qualified jurist with a bipartisan background to such an important position. Sonia Sotomayor's personal story is inspirational, and she is deeply committed to the rule of law and our American constitutional traditions.
"We congratulate Judge Sotomayor on her nomination and laud President Obama for his thoughtful selection of her as our next Supreme Court Justice."
