INDIANAPOLIS – Drew Anderson, communications director for the Indiana Democratic Party, released the following statement as Mike Pence tries to once again photo-op his way out of his late-to-the-game approach on fixing Indiana’s crumbling infrastructure.
“After jeopardizing our ‘Crossroads of America’ reputation and wasting $71 million on faulty asphalt, Governor Mike Pence is doing literally anything possible to make it look like he’s concerned about Indiana’s crumbling infrastructure. Gov. Pence’s recent ‘plan’ provides the bare minimum needed for Indiana to keep its D+ grade while also ignoring 90% of the state’s roads. And Hoosiers are tired of Pence’s late-to-the-game approach as they drive on Indiana’s 1,900 structurally deficient bridges. Instead, Hoosiers are ready for a leader like John Gregg, who foresaw this crisis and advocated for the improvement of the state’s entire infrastructure system back in 2012. Mike Pence can’t photo op his way out of this one, and it’s time Indiana has a governor who’s willing to solve today’s problems for Hoosier families.”
