INDIANAPOLIS – Rep. Braun’s comments about Curtis Hill’s groping scandal during a bizarre interview last week continue to make waves in Indiana, as Hoosiers wait for him to explain whether or not he believes Hill’s accusers, among other inflammatory comments.
Rep. Braun’s initial comments about the scandal during an interview on WIBC last Tuesday were the topic of discussion on IN Focus this weekend, highlighting Rep. Braun’s “muddled” response to questions about whether Hill should step down after four women accused him of groping them at a party in March.
During his bizarre interview with conservative radio host Tony Katz, Rep. Braun claimed that Hill’s decision to resign was a “personal decision,” and he sought to undermine the credibility of the four female accusers, saying that “only Curtis knows [if these allegations are true] himself.” Seven days later, Rep. Braun still has yet to clarify his claim that Hill is the only one who knows if the allegations are true.
“A week later, Hoosiers still have plenty of questions about Rep. Braun’s bizarre interview, starting with whether he believes the women who have bravely come forward to tell their stories about Curtis Hill’s disgusting behavior,” said Michael Feldman, spokesman for the Indiana Democratic Party. “As his lies and inflammatory comments continue to draw Indiana’s attention, Rep. Braun needs to clarify whether he thinks Curtis Hill is still the only one who knows if the allegations are true, or if he believes any one of the four women.”
