POLL: About 68-percent of Americans support the American Jobs Plan

Indiana Democrats are eager to revitalize the state’s infrastructure, provide better opportunities for Hoosier families

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Democratic Party, the organization that advocates for the future of Indiana and its families, today celebrated yet more good news showing how eager American voters are for elected officials to pass President Joe Biden’s American Jobs Plan. A new Monmouth University poll found about 68-percent of voters – including 41-percent of Republicans – support the Jobs Plan and the opportunity it has to rebuild and revitalize Indiana’s infrastructure. Like the American Rescue Plan, the Jobs Plan is common-sense and would focus on tackling some of today’s most pressing problems facing Hoosier families, including childcare, access to good-paying jobs, and expanding broadband internet across Indiana.

The opportunity the American Jobs Plan brings Indiana is why Democrats are eager to help President Biden get this legislation across the finish line. However, the same cannot be said for the Indiana Republican Party who – due to their extreme partisanship and lost identity – refuse to support the chance to create a better future for Indiana. Instead, Republicans are claiming “government spending” and “taxes” are why they oppose the measure – despite having increased the national debt by $7.8 trillion and raised taxes on Hoosier motorists themselves. The Indiana Republican Party is so extreme that they’ve lost their identity, and they’ve shown they cannot be trusted to lead Indiana and its families into a better tomorrow.
