INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Democratic Party is excited to announce the next stop of its Break the Supermajority Tour in Jeffersonville on Wednesday, May 29 at 5:30 p.m. ET at the Knights of Columbus Hall ahead of the caucuses to replace State Rep. Rita Fleming, who retired earlier this month. The stop will include IDP officials, including Chair Mike Schmuhl, and the candidates who have filed for the seat, including Wendy Dant Chesser, who is the only candidate who has filed so far.
They will make the case on why House District 71 needs Democratic leadership at the Statehouse to build on Rep. Fleming’s legacy, and expand opportunity and freedom for all Hoosiers.
Following the media availability, Democratic precinct committee members in the district will vote that evening on Rep. Fleming’s replacement in the State House, and for November’s general election ballot in two separate votes.
