MINNEAPOLIS — Indiana Democratic Party Chair Karen Tallian released the following statement this afternoon from the DNC Summer Meetings in Minneapolis on the news of the school shooting in the city today.

“The entire Indiana DNC delegation is horrified and heartbroken by the loss of life and injuries to as many as 20 children at the Catholic Annunciation Church in Minneapolis this morning. Our hearts are with the children and families affected by this horrific tragedy, and the resilient community in the Twin Cities in mourning today,” Tallian said. “This is yet another horrific, avoidable school shooting tragedy that occurred while students were in their first days back to school. For them, it was their first days seeing new friends and learning new subjects. No child in the wealthiest and most-resourced country in the world should have to experience the tragedy that those children did this morning.”
