INDIANAPOLIS – IDP Chairman John Zody released the following statement after House Republicans unveiled their tax bill this morning:
“Hoosiers want to see tax policies that strengthen the middle class, boost economic growth and make sure that the hard-working Americans who leave for work in the dark and come home in the dark have more money in their pockets. We don’t want a retread of Governor Pence’s failed trickle-down policies, where the wealthiest Hoosiers received a handout from Republicans while working families were left with slow-growing wages and not much else. If Republicans want to make sure their tax plan will help every American instead of just their wealthy donors, they need to reach across the aisle and make sure commonsense voices like Joe Donnelly’s are heard so that Americans from all walks of life have a seat at the table.”
