INDIANAPOLIS – Today, Congressman Todd Young is standing by U.S. Speaker Paul Ryan who authored the plan to gut Social Security and steal hard-earned benefits out of the hands of Hoosier seniors.

But this is not the first time Young has stood with Ryan. Congressman Young, who once called Social Security a “Ponzi scheme,” is an ardent support of Speaker Ryan’s dangerous policies, voting for Ryan’s plan to turn Medicare into a voucher system every year he’s been in Congress, and bragging that he “helped to draft” a plan to jeopardize more than a million Hoosier seniors.

“Congressman Todd Young has always put himself first and is continuing to bow to the big funders and special interests backing his campaign, all while threatening the promises made to generations of Hoosier seniors,” said John Zody, Chairman. “Congressman Young is not only beholden to anti-Social Security special interests in Washington, he actively advocates for destructive policies and would not hesitate to slash benefits and leave Hoosiers unprotected if it means advancing his own political career.”
