INDIANAPOLIS – As General Motors plans to announce an investment in its Marion Metal Center this morning – a move that will spur the local economy and bring new jobs for Hoosiers – it’s worth noting Congressman Todd Young’s consistent record of harming Hoosier workers.
“There is a stark difference in this election. First, there’s Todd Young – who has time and again put his out-of-touch Washington agenda ahead of the state, including his vote to allow companies to keep their tax breaks even if they ship jobs overseas. And then we have Evan Bayh, who saved the auto industry (and thousands of Hoosier jobs) in 2008,” said John Zody, chairman. “Evan Bayh has a lifelong record of standing up for Hoosiers. When Indiana jobs were on the line, Evan worked across party lines to help Indiana’s economy and jobs recover. Todd Young would have just followed orders of out-of-touch Washington interests.”
The auto industry rescue saved 1.5 million American jobs, including more than 100,000 Hoosier jobs, and helped bring Indiana back from what was the worst recession since The Great Depression. Evan Bayh will continue to show some Hoosier Common Sense by working across party lines to get things done for Hoosiers and the state of Indiana.
