INDIANAPOLIS – Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) and Representative Keith Ellison (D-MN) will share the stage and keynote the Indiana Democratic Party’s annual Hoosier Hospitality Dinner on Friday, May 5 in Indianapolis. Indiana Democratic Party Chairman John Zody noted new energy and activism around countering President Trump and is excited to host Sen. Cortez Masto and Rep. Ellison.
“The HH Dinner is fundamentally about bringing folks together and we’re honored to welcome Sen. Cortez Masto and Rep. Ellison, two Democrats that have made uniting people the core of their careers in public service,” said Zody. “They are focused squarely on the future and fairness and have always put the interests of working families first. We call that Hoosier common sense and we’re excited to hear their message.”

Background on United States Senator Catherine Cortez Masto
Before being elected to the United States Senate, Senator Catherine Cortez Masto spent her career fighting to protect Nevada families. Cortez Masto served two terms as Nevada’s Attorney General, where she fought to combat drug crime, protect seniors, take on the big banks, and worked to strengthen laws preventing sex trafficking and violence against women. Prior to her service as Attorney General, Cortez Masto worked as an Assistant County Manager for Clark County. She also served as a federal criminal prosecutor for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Washington, D.C. and was Chief of Staff to Governor Bob Miller. Cortez Masto currently resides in Las Vegas, Nevada with her husband, Paul. Cortez Masto is the first woman elected to represent Nevadans in the United States Senate and the first Latina to serve in that chamber. Background on United States Congressman Keith Ellison
Rep. Ellison has represented the Fifth Congressional District of Minnesota in the U.S. House of Representatives since taking office on January 4, 2007. Rep. Ellison’s philosophy is one of “generosity and inclusiveness.” His roots as a community activist and his message of inclusivity through democratic participation resonates throughout the Fifth District. His priorities in Congress are: promoting peace, prosperity for working families, environmental sustainability, and civil and human rights. Ellison has served as co-chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, and a Chief Deputy Whip. He was a member of the DCCC leadership board and served on the DNC Platform Drafting Committee. Rep.
