INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Democratic Party, the organization that advocates for the future of Indiana and its families, today criticized Governor Eric Holcomb for talking out of both sides of his mouth about the state’s economy. On one hand, Holcomb branded Indiana as having “momentum” for its future. But on the other hand, the Governor (finally) admitted Eli Lilly CEO David Ricks was right about the state’s failing workforce and education systems. In fact, Holcomb said Ricks “stated the obvious” about how Indiana’s F-rated workforce and D+ rated education system is preventing substantial investments from entering the state.
Bottom Line: The Indiana GOP hopes Hoosiers don’t notice their national partisanship is harming the state’s future.
In contrast, Indiana Democrats are fixing the Indiana GOP’s mistakes. Thanks to the American Rescue Plan and The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (The Jobs Act), André Carson, Frank Mrvan, and Democrats at the statehouse are delivering good-paying jobs, revitalizing Indiana’s infrastructure, expanding broadband, and funding Governor Holcomb’s own Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative (READI) program. Democrats are delivering the kitchen-table issues that matter most to voters.
As for the Indiana GOP: no plans for the state’s future – just national partisanship.

Holcomb: “It is at an unprecedented level coming into the state of Indiana,” said Holcomb. “We don’t just have traction, we’ve got serious momentum going forward. The key will continue to be to make sure that we have the workforce skilled up to fill these careers, because success attracts success.”
