INDIANAPOLIS – Yesterday afternoon, more than 24 hours after it was revealed that Donald Trump had condoned committing sexual assault, Congressman Todd Young robotically stuck with his talking points, and said he was giving “serious consideration” to his continued support for Donald Trump.
As Todd Young consults with his advisers on what makes the most sense for him politically, we wanted to offer some of the comments Trump offered even before Friday’s shocking story, for his “serious consideration:”
June 2015: Trump targets Mexicans in candidacy announcement: “[Mexicans are] bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists.”
July 2015: Trump mocks John McCain for being a POW: “He’s not a war hero. He’s a war hero because he was captured. I like people that weren’t captured.”
August 2015: Trump ridicules Megyn Kelly: “You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes. Blood coming out of her—wherever.”
November 2015: Trump mocks disabled reporter: “You gotta see this guy. [impression of congenital disability] Argghhh I don’t know what I said! I don’t remember!”
February 2016: Trump calls Pope Francis “disgraceful”: “For a religious leader to question a person’s faith is disgraceful.”
June 2016: Trump declared that a federal judge from Indiana, Judge Gonzalo Curiel, could not fairly judge him due to the judge’s Mexican heritage.
July 2016: Trump fights with Gold Star Family Khizr and Ghazala Khan: “If you look at his wife, she was standing there. She had nothing to say. She probably, maybe she wasn’t allowed to have anything to say.”
September 2016: Attacked a former Miss Universe for her weight and called her “disgusting.”
