INDIANAPOLIS — On Saturday, July 13, over 1,800 delegates from across the state arrived at the Indiana Convention Center for the 2024 Indiana State Democratic Convention to nominate candidates for lieutenant governor and attorney general. At the end of the day the Democratic ticket was finalized, with Terry Goodin winning lieutenant governor and Destiny Wells taking the nomination for attorney general.
“Todd Rokita is the most vulnerable Attorney General in the nation this year,” Wells said in a release. “It’s going to take relentless fortitude to bring home a win for integrity in the Indiana Attorney General’s office and I’m ready to fight like hell for Hoosiers and run right through that finish line in November.”
Wells is an Army Reserve Lt. Colonel, attorney, wife, and mother, and she is committed to restoring integrity to the office of attorney general. She is pro-choice, dedicated to protecting workers’ rights, and ready to lead Indiana with a fair, just hand.
“It’s time we had an attorney general with interests and commitments beyond their personal agenda. That’s the leader Destiny will be as our next AG,” said Indiana Democratic Chair Mike Schmuhl.
“Destiny is prepared to return dignity to the office of the people’s lawyer. She will fight for every family’s ability to receive the best possible healthcare, and stop the witch hunts against women and doctors. Destiny will trust them and our families.
Destiny will stand up for medical professionals like Dr. Caitlin Bernard and protect the rights of Hoosier women to receive the best possible healthcare without fear of intimidation.”
The final results of the AG vote were as follows:
Destiny Wells: 1,057
Beth White: 475
