INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Democratic African American Caucus released the following statement concerning the Trump Administration’s announcement on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.
“The Indiana Democratic African American Caucus (IDAAC) denounces the decision of President Trump, in a move that President Obama calls ‘cruel’, regarding DACA. IDAAC stands in support of our Hispanic brothers and sisters as this is a call for alliances to be formed with other minority groups in order to recruit, support and train minority candidates up and down the State of Indiana to run for office in 2018 and going forward in the coming election cycles. Legislation that is anti-diversity not only damages America now, but that hate will hurt us for generations to come. We must stand together in the face of Trump’s pardon of Sheriff Joe Arpaio, support of white supremacy in Virginia, and demolition of freedom through DACA’s reversal. America is better–and we must be the proof.”
