IDP is proud to stand for workers’ rights
INDIANAPOLISā On Friday, a collective bargaining agreement was ratified between the Indiana Democratic Party and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 481.
Indiana Democratic Party Chairman John Zody issued the following statement in regard to the staff’s ratification of their union contract:
Today, we took the next step in our long partnership with organized labor: ratifying a union contract for our staff. We’re proud to stand for workers’ rights and to make the Indiana Democratic Party an organization that stands with our staff ā but also a place where we live our values. Iām very grateful for the IBEW’s work over the last few months in getting this done.
Jeff Wheeler, Business Manager of IBEW Local 481, the Party’s IBEW business representative, shared the following statement in regard to the new agreement:
The IBEW is happy to welcome the Indiana Democratic Party staff into our union. This contract’s ratification is just further evidence that the Democratic Party is the Party of workers’ rights. They’ve made it clear that these values are more than just lines in their platform – they’re lived in every aspect of IDP’s work. I’m glad to be a part of their fight for Hoosier workers.
