IDP Statement on Stalled I-69 Project

INDIANAPOLIS – John Zody, Chairman of the Indiana Democratic Party, released the following statement after the Pence-Holcomb Administration was once again late to the game on managing our state’s infrastructure – this time with a publicized dispute between the State and contractors for the I-69 project.

“Today’s news about contractors and workers not getting paid for the work they are doing on the I-69 project is the latest example of the mismanagement and late to the game governing style of the Pence-Holcomb Administration. With no clear plan for how to fix the state’s infrastructure in the future, Eric Holcomb and Mike Pence have let this project stall, creating hazardous delays on the completion of an interstate corridor that thousands of Hoosiers, including myself, use every single day.

Under Mike Pence and Eric Holcomb’s watch, our state government has had a series of missteps that have either led to a public relations crisis, or have set back progress on our already-crumbling roads and bridges. Today’s news falls under both of those categories. From wasting taxpayer money on faulty asphalt to shutting down I-65 for a month – it’s clear that Indiana is desperate for new leadership. Otherwise, we’ll continue down a road full of mismanagement and mishaps by this Administration.”
