INDIANAPOLIS – President Obama accepted an invitation to speak at the Indiana Democratic Party’s Gary GOTV rally and will stump for Democratic candidates up and down the ticket this Sunday. Democrats in the Region and across the state are excited to hear President Obama and get fired up to vote early or on Election Day.

Former President Barack Obama is holding a get-out-the-vote rally Sunday for U.S. Sen. Joe Donnelly, D-Ind., and the other Hoosier Democratic candidates at the Genesis Center in Gary.
Doors for the event will open at 12 p.m. Region time. Free tickets are required for entry. Each attendee must register for a ticket online at INDems.org/Obama and then tickets must be picked up at the following locations starting Thursday:
…The 44th president is expected to encourage Hoosiers attending the rally to vote on or before Election Day, and to volunteer Tuesday to help bring voters to the polls in association with the Indiana Democratic Coordinated Campaign.
“It’s an honor to invite President Obama back to Indiana to fire up thousands of Hoosiers and get them out to vote early, knock doors and elect Democrats up and down the ticket this coming Tuesday,” said Indiana Democratic Party Chairman John Zody.

GARY, Ind. (AP) — Indiana Democrats are bringing in former President Barack Obama to counter the campaigning by President Donald Trump in the state’s contentious U.S. Senate race.
The state Democratic Party says Obama will speak during a rally Sunday at the Genesis Convention Center in Gary in support of Democratic Sen. Joe Donnelly’s re-election bid.
…The high-profile campaigning is a sign of the tight race between Donnelly and Braun as Tuesday’s election result could help determine whether Republicans retain their narrow Senate majority.

Former President Barack Obama will campaign in Gary on Sunday for Democratic Sen. Joe Donnelly and other candidates down the ticket.
Obama’s visit comes as the national spotlight shines on the tightly contested race between Donnelly and Republican businessman Mike Braun. The outcome of the race could determine which party controls the U.S. Senate.
President Donald Trump has campaigned on behalf of Braun in Evansville and Elkhart and will visit Indianapolis Friday and Fort Wayne Monday. He also spoke Saturday at the annual FFA convention at Banker’s Life Fieldhouse.
Obama’s rally will be at the Genesis Convention Center in downtown Gary. Doors open at noon. It’s unclear what time he will speak.
Obama is expected to encourage Hoosiers to vote early and to volunteer on Election Day.
