Congresswoman defended and supported QAnon’s Marjorie Taylor-Greene despite record claiming recent school shootings were staged 

ICYMI: Spartz supported Noblesville West Middle School shooter, ignored victims of horrific incident 

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Democratic Party, the organization that advocates for the future of Indiana and its families, today called on U.S. Congresswoman Victoria Spartz to apologize for selling out and disrespecting her own hometown of Noblesville in favor of the QAnon movement and the belief that recent school shootings — like the shooting at Noblesville West Middle School in 2018 — were staged. 

“Victoria Spartz is a sell out. The congresswoman ignored her constituents’ concerns following the 2018 shooting, and she continues to disregard an issue that’s traumatized the Noblesville community,” said Drew Anderson, spokesman for the Indiana Democratic Party. “Spartz is actively choosing to cozy up to a conspiracy theorist in order to gain political power, not represent Hoosier families. The congresswoman should apologize or risk disqualifying herself from suburban voters who want their politicians to get stuff done for them, not grandstand to Party Leaders in Washington.” 

Congresswoman Spartz defended and supported her QAnon colleague Marjorie Taylor Greene late last week when the U.S. House voted to strip the politician from the House Budget and Education and Labor Committees. The vote occurred after news reports uncovered the congresswoman endorsing the idea to assassinate Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the conspiracy theory suggesting the shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida was a hoax. 

It bears repeating: Congresswoman Spartz is an ideologue. Not only has Spartz ignored requests by constituents to address gun violence in suburban communities, but she’s vocally opposed measures in the Indiana State Senate that would have made schools safer for our children. Spartz, a “staunch concervative”, was largely complicit to the violent rhetoric and discourse from former President Donald Trump in 2020. And outside of a week’s pause following the insurrection, Spartz refused to hold the former president accountable for inciting the domestic terrorist attack against the United States. The congresswoman’s full embrace of Marjorie Taylor Greene cements her standing and support for Trumpism and the QAnon agenda — ideologies that disregard American democracy and American values.
