NWI Times: Mrvan touts record of accomplishments as he launches bid for second term
Gary Post-Tribune: Mrvan kicks off Indiana Democratic Party ‘Jobs Tour’ in Merrillville
From state’s READI program to infrastructure projects across Indiana, the American Rescue Plan and The Jobs Act delivers for Indiana
INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Democratic Party, the organization that advocates for the future of Indiana and its families, today announced the launch of “The Jobs Tour”, a statewide effort to share how Hoosier Democrats – not Republicans – are responsible for the bright economic future for families and communities across the state.
Thanks to the American Rescue Plan and The Jobs Act, Democrats like U.S. Congressmen André Carson and Frank J. Mrvan secured total funding for the state’s READI program, more than $900 million of state construction projects, and transformational investments that will expand broadband internet access, revitalize water systems, fix community infrastructure needs, and repair crumbling roads and bridges across Indiana. Democrats created this bright economic future for Hoosier families, and “The Jobs Tour” will celebrate how these kitchen table issues were made possible when it mattered most.
“Indiana and Hoosier families have a bright future, and it’s primarily because of President Biden and Indiana Democrats like André Carson and Frank Mrvan. Democrats delivered on jobs, the state’s READI program, construction projects, and transformational infrastructure projects voters will see for years to come,” said Mike Schmuhl, Chairman of the Indiana Democratic Party. “The American Rescue Plan and the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act made all of this possible, and while Indiana Republicans focus on their culture wars at the statehouse, Democrats will crisscross the state to share this great news directly with voters. Indiana is on the cusp of a better tomorrow, and it’s because Democrats got things done and supported Hoosiers when it mattered most.”
The first stop of “The Jobs Tour” was in Merrillville where U.S. Congressman Frank J. Mrvan, Labor leaders, and local Democrats championed the impact the Rescue Plan and The Jobs Act has already had in Lake County and greater Northwest Indiana region. About 15 additional stops will follow and be held in every Congressional district of the state. “The Jobs Tour” will coincide with the Indiana Democratic Party’s 2022 Platform Process where Democrats are invited to join Party Leaders for policy discussions about its draft platform, “The Hoosier Promise”. This will be approved during the Indiana Democratic Party’s convention this June.
Additionally, “The Jobs Tour” continues the Indiana Democratic Party’s commitment to meet voters and families where they are. Last year, the state party held over 60 events in more than 55 counties via its American Rescue Plan, American Jobs Plan, redistricting, and “Small Town, Indiana” tours. By the end of the 2022 election year, Indiana Democrats will have held campaign events in every one of the state’s 92 counties. Every community and county matters, and Democrats are ready to share how they delivered and stood by Hoosier families – regardless of region or political opportunity.
