Indiana GOP in 2021: Gov. Holcomb: Indiana to end federal pandemic unemployment benefits
Indiana GOP in 2022: Indiana legislation would ensure unemployment benefits for those who refuse vaccines
INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Democratic Party, the organization that advocates for the future of Indiana and its families, today issued the following statement by Lauren Ganapini (INDems’ executive director) after the Indiana House of Representatives passed House Bill 1001, an extreme and irrational piece of legislation that further discredits the COVID-19 vaccine:
“Indiana Republicans want to hand out cash to folks who choose to remain unvaccinated over holding a job, and they voted ‘YES’ on this policy after denying unemployment benefits to Hoosiers who lost their jobs at the start of COVID-19. This calculated flip-flop is irrational and yet another unnecessary culture war at a time when real leadership is sorely needed,” said Lauren Ganapini, executive director of the Indiana Democratic Party. “From limiting economic security to discrediting the vaccine, House Bill 1001 shows Hoosiers the Indiana GOP prefer partisan games over creating a better future for Hoosier families.”

Indiana GOP in 2021: “Governor Eric Holcomb announced Monday that Indiana will end its participation in all federally funded pandemic unemployment insurance programs effective June 19, 2021.
‘There are help wanted signs posted all over Indiana, and while our economy took a hit last year, it is roaring like an Indy 500 race car engine now. I am hearing from multiple sector employers that they want and need to hire more Hoosiers to grow,’ said Gov. Holcomb.”
