INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana Democratic Party Executive Director Lauren Ganapini issued the following statement regarding the Party’s preparations for the May 5 primary election and state convention.
Indiana Democratic Party State Convention
“This is a rapidly developing situation, and we want to be as prepared as possible. Hoosier Democrats intend to hold the Party’s state convention on June 13 as planned, but we are also developing contingencies in case an alternative event is necessary. Any contingency will ensure the participation of delegates in the election of national delegates and statewide candidates.”
May 5 primary election
“We’re in near-constant contact with the Election Division to work to make sure contingencies are in place to keep people safe for the May 5 primary. If the need arises, we’re hopeful all alternative methods are on the table, including expanding vote by mail options.”
