INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Democratic Party, the organization that advocates for the future of Indiana and its families, today celebrated the success of its bipartisan “2022 Town Hall Series” across the state. State Party leaders were joined by the Libertarian Party of Indiana to hear from all voters about the top issues facing Hoosier families ahead of the 2022 state and federal elections. Indiana Democrats believed it was imperative for voters to hear from all major political parties, and this fact is why the tour was held in 14 communities – big and small – across Indiana.
The Indiana Republican Party was invited to participate in these town hall events, but unfortunately they declined. The current INGOP does not believe in American democracy.
No theme was set for the town halls. Each event was held for approximately 90 minutes where leaders like Tom McDermott, Destiny Wells, ZeNai Brooks, Jessica McClellan, Dr. Jennifer McCormick, Phil GiaQuinta, Ryan Hatfield, Terri Austin, Gary Snyder, Cinde Wirth, Jeannine Lee Lake, Nick Marshall, Victoria Wilburn, and Jocelyn Vare answered questions about the most important issues facing voters. This included questions on global inflation, law enforcement, education, broadband, gun safety, and safe and legal abortions.
This was the seventh statewide tour of the Indiana Democratic Party since Mike Schmuhl began his tenure as Chairman. To date, the State Party has held more than 120 events in more than 65 counties to share how President Joe Biden and leaders like André Carson and Frank Mrvan have delivered for the Hoosier State. From creating jobs, fighting for a woman’s right to choose, or revitalizing the state’s many infrastructure systems, Democrats are solving the kitchen-table issues important to Hoosier families.
Indiana Democrats will continue to hit the road in the coming weeks to highlight its “Hoosier Promise” and a better future for the state. Here’s a look at a sampling of coverage for the “2022 Town Hall Series” tour:
