Fort Wayne Journal Gazette: “Southwest Allen County’s 46814 has 77.5% fully vaccinated”
INDems’ American Rescue Plan Tour begins in Fort Wayne this evening at the Allen County Courthouse
INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Democratic Party, the organization that advocates for the future of Indiana and its families, today celebrated the continued progress President Joe Biden’s American Rescue Plan (ARP) is bringing to Indiana as it is poised to put COVID-19 in the rearview mirror. A new report in the Fort Wayne Journal Gazette revealed southwest Allen County is beginning to achieve levels of herd immunity that’s needed to help stop COVID-19 in its tracks – and it’s all thanks to vaccination efforts that are paid for by the American Rescue Plan. This great news arrived just as Indiana Democrats – led by Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry, Indiana House Minority Leader Phil GiaQuinta, and former U.S. Senator Joe Donnelly – are set to launch its American Rescue Plan Tour at the Allen County Courthouse in Fort Wayne this evening.
It’s simple: the American Rescue Plan is helping create a better future for Indiana and its families, and not a single Indiana Republican voted for the law. Thanks to ARP, about 91-percent of Hoosiers received a $1,400 stimulus check, Indiana and its communities received $5.8 billion in relief, about $250 million is being used to expand broadband internet access, and not a single Indiana Republican voted for the law. The Rescue Plan delivered about $2 billion to Indiana’s schools, and not a single Indiana Republican voted for the law. And according to a recent study, food shortages in households dropped by 42-percent while anxiety and depression dropped in homes by about 20-percent because of the American Rescue Plan, and *not a single Indiana Republican voted for the law*.
