INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Democratic Party, the organization that advocates for the future of Indiana and its families, today criticized Indiana Republicans for creating a “work more for less” economy that’s literally failing Hoosier workers and families across the state. According to CNBC’s annual “Top States for Business” report, Indiana’s workforce was handed a “F” rating and ranks 43rd in the nation – down fourteen spots from the 2019 report. This ranking follows a study that revealed under Indiana Republicans’ watch, Indiana saw more “good jobs” leave than what was brought in the state.

Governor Eric Holcomb and Indiana Republicans have created a “work more for less” economy. Holcomb refused to give Hoosiers access to unemployment benefits during the COVID-19 pandemic. Republicans refuse to raise wages for the state’s workforce, denying 892,000 Hoosiers making under $15.00 an hour a better future. The Indiana Republican Party’s partisanship has become so outdated and extreme that they’d rather abide by myths and misinformation than actually deliver for Hoosier families.
Indiana Democrats are ready to deliver this better opportunity for the state’s workforce, and it’ll be the American Jobs Plan that gets the job done. The Indiana Democratic Party launched its statewide tour this week to share with Hoosiers why Indiana needs the Jobs Plan and a revitalized infrastructure system. This includes creating those good-paying jobs that’ll solve the INGOP’s “work more for less” economy, dismantling the Republicans’ “right to work” laws, and solving some of today’s most pressing infrastructure needs – such as expanding broadband, eliminating childcare deserts, and fixing crumbling roads and bridges.
