Indiana Republicans prove once again to be the party of anger and grievance, Party has no vision for Indiana and its families
INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Democratic Party, the organization that advocates for the future of Indiana and its families, today slammed the Indiana Republican Party’s congressional delegation for failing to protect survivors of domestic violence and preventing undocumented Hoosiers from having a pathway for attaining U.S. Citizenship. Both votes by Indiana Republicans once again prove they are a party of anger and grievance. The INGOP has no vision whatsoever for Indiana and its families.
Here’s what happened:
Indiana Republicans Wednesday evening voted against the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act (VAWA)
The law, originally authored by now-President Joe Biden, brings an comprehensive response to domestic violence, sexual assault, violence while dating, and stalking. Once viewed as common sense and bipartisan, Republicans allowed VAWA to expire two years ago.

Hoosier Republicans all opposed Farm Modernization Workforce Act
The Farm Modernization Workforce Act would provide a pathway for legal status and permanent residency for the estimated 1.2 million farmworkers in the United States, including many families who help farmers across Indiana. In 2019, Congressman Jim Baird voted for the bill.
