INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Democratic Party, the organization that advocates for the future of Indiana and its families, today criticized U.S. Senator Mike Braun for some pretty tone-deaf opposition to the American Rescue Plan. While struggling Hoosiers are getting some much-needed relief during the pandemic, Braun is upset that households with an income of more than $400,000 – about 25,000 Hoosiers – will see a tax increase.

You read that right. Senator Braun is opposed to the American Rescue Plan, which has an approval of 75-percent of Americans, because the law delivers relief to struggling families and not rich people like himself. Unfortunately, Braun now joins Indiana Republicans like U.S. Senator Todd Young by delivering lackluster excuses for voting against Hoosier families. It’s the very reason why Hoosiers are losing trust in the Indiana Republican Party.
