INDIANAPOLIS – Drew Anderson, communications director of the Indiana Democratic Party, released the following statement after Visit Indy reported a troubling future with its tourism report, proving that Mike Pence’s RFRA has causedlong-term economic damage to the state of Indiana.
“First it was a $60 million economic panic, and now it appears that Mike Pence’s RFRA is doing long-term damage to the overall well-being of Indianapolis. Contrary to Pence’s thoughts, Indiana’s economy will be ‘at its peak’ when all Hoosiers, including the LGBT community, feel welcome and free from discrimination. But leave it up to Mike Pence and his out-of-touch ideology to cloud the state’s economy and place Indiana’s ‘Hoosier Hospitality’ reputation in jeopardy. Hoosiers need a governor who will lead the state into the future. That will be John Gregg, who supports adding ‘sexual orientation, gender identity’ to the state’s nondiscrimination laws.”
