GARY, Ind. – President Barack Obama, Joe Donnelly and Indiana Democratic candidates fired up thousands of Hoosiers today at a sold out get out the vote rally at the Gary Genesis Center two days before the election.
7,000 supporters came out to listen to President Obama as he spoke about the critical importance of getting out the vote and electing Hoosier Democrats up and down the ticket on November 6. President Obama reminded the audience that a vote for Joe Donnelly and other Democrats is a vote to protect health care, Medicare, and Social Security for millions of Hoosiers.
Additional speakers included U.S. Senator Joe Donnelly, Gary Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson, Congressman Pete Visclosky, and Congressman André Carson.
Early voting in Indiana runs through 12:00 p.m. local time tomorrow. Hoosiers can also vote on election day from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time and can check their polling location at GetToThePolls.com. “It was an honor to have President Obama in Gary today to rally with thousands of Hoosier Democrats and encourage them to vote early or on election day,” said Indiana Democratic Party Chairman John Zody. “President Obama delivered a clear message to Hoosier Democrats: from the Senate to the Courthouse, the stakes of this election could not be higher. With just two days to go, Hoosiers are more fired up than ever to elect Democrats up and down the ticket on Tuesday.”
