INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana Democratic Party Chair Karen Tallian expressed deep disappointment in the actions of her former colleagues in the State Senate, Indiana Republican Congressmembers Erin Houchin, Marlin Stutzman, Victoria Spartz, and Mark Messmer. These lawmakers all voted, along with every Indiana Republican in Congress, to prevent the release of key files related to Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes.
Tallian criticized her former Indiana Senate colleagues for voting to protect Epstein’s friends and clients and refusing to say why. Between 2006 and 2021, Tallian served in the Indiana Senate with now U.S. Reps. Houchin, Stutzman, Spartz and Messmer.
“I served with many of these Republicans in the Indiana Senate. They had no trouble explaining their votes then — why are they silent now? Every Indiana Republican in Congress voted to protect those who participated in this heinous child trafficking ring with Epstein. Hoosiers deserve to know why,” said Tallian. “Every American, including Republican voters, wants to know the truth. What possible reason do they have to bury it? Is it because they know Donald Trump is on Epstein’s list? Please explain your vote.”
“Congressional Democrats will keep fighting to bring these files to light because Democrats actually care about children and believe in the rule of law. Hoosiers demand to know who Congressional Republicans are working so hard to protect.”
