INDIANAPOLIS – Tennessee Trey Hollingsworth has used more than $500,000 from his father’s super PAC to influence Indiana’s Ninth District race. Between the primary – where Tennessee Trey carpetbagged his way to defeat GOP opponents – and now the general election, Hollingsworth is asking his dad to help him buy his way to Congress.

“Apparently, using millions of his own dollars isn’t good enough, as Tennessee Trey continues to rely on his Dad’s money to help hurl false attacks against lifelong Hoosiers,” said John Zody, Chairman. “Hoosiers are seeing through Tennessee Trey’s attempt to buy the Ninth District, and it’s why no amount of dark money should allow him to buy a seat in Congress. Tennessee Trey is not from the state, he doesn’t understand Hoosier values, and he has no business representing Indiana.”

IndyStar: “Hollingsworth won the five-way GOP primary with 34 percent of the vote, after being dubbed “Tennessee Trey” for moving to Indiana less than a year ago. He also was criticized for the support he got from a political action committee funded by his father. The PAC spent about $500,000, and Hollingsworth spent $2 million of his own money on the primary.”
