INDIANAPOLIS – Tennessee Trey Hollingsworth doesn’t just have a tax return problem, he once avoided paying property taxes for one of his businesses too.

In 2013, Tennessee Trey began a two-year legal battle after he missed a filing tax deadline for his business in Bluffton. Hollingsworth received about $800,000 for his business from the state, but owed more than $90,000 – forcing Hoosiers to foot this bill.

“Tennessee Trey will do anything to convince Hoosiers he’s one of them – even if it means deceiving Hoosiers,” said Drew Anderson, communications director. “If Tennessee Trey was a ‘proud Hoosier’ then he would have had no problem paying the property taxes he owed. However, Hoosiers are seeing right through his approach – using D.C. talking points and dark money to buy a seat in Congress. Hoosiers want someone who understands the issues that matter to them, and that person is not Tennessee Trey Hollingsworth.”
