Also Todd Young: Votes “NO” on $540 million of childcare investments, domestic violence survivors, and the Child Tax Credit
INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Democratic Party, the organization that advocates for the future of Indiana and its families, today called out U.S Senator Todd Young for claiming he supports “standing for life and supporting pregnant women” when his votes literally say otherwise. Young voted against the American Rescue Plan last year which delivered $3.5 million for domestic violence and sexual assault survivors in Indiana, $540 million in childcare investments, and a Child Tax Credit for Hoosier families. While Todd Young says he wants to protect life, it’s President Joe Biden’s Rescue Plan that actually protected women, stabilized the childcare industry, and cut the child poverty rate in half. Young voted “NO” on everything.
Todd Young’s 2022 election strategy is trying to have it both ways, because he knows the Indiana GOP has no plans for Indiana’s future – just extreme partisanship.
In contrast, Indiana Democrats like Andrè Carson and Frank Mrvan said “YES” to these investments for Hoosiers — and U.S. Democratic candidate Tom McDermott supports them, too. Whether it’s the Child Tax Credit, solving Indiana’s childcare crisis, or protecting domestic violence survivors – families are at the core of Democrats’ plans to create a better future for Hoosiers. It’s why Democrats are delivering the kitchen-table issues that matter most to voters in all of Indiana’s 92 counties.
Throughout the 2022 elections (and beyond), Democrats will highlight how the Indiana GOP has no plan for Indiana’s future – just a divisive partisan agenda.
