INDIANAPOLIS – Congressman Todd Young is standing by his anti-Hoosier belief that the auto industry should have gone “belly up,” even though it would have meant killing 100,000 Hoosier jobs and the economic collapse of communities across Indiana.
The failure of the auto industry would have been “the end of everything” according to the editorial board of the Kokomo Tribune, but Congressman Young rejected the bipartisan measure that saved Hoosier jobs and called it “a waste.”
“So many of our communities here in Indiana depend on the jobs they have in the auto industry, and for Congressman Young to consider 100,000 Hoosier jobs ‘a waste’ is appalling,” said John Zody, Chairman. “Had Congressman Young gotten his way, there would have been disastrous consequences for Hoosiers and our economy. Todd Young has proven yet again that he’s wrong for Hoosiers.”
