Spartz falsely claims childcare, universal Pre-K, Indiana’s HIP 2.0 program, and tax cuts for Hoosier families will hurt Indiana’s small towns, raise their taxes
ICYMI: Most Hoosiers will see tax cut if Biden’s jobs, families plans enacted, analysis finds
INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Democratic Party, the organization that advocates for the future of Indiana and its families, today criticized U.S. Congresswoman Victoria Spartz for lying about the impact President Joe Biden’s Build Back Better agenda would have on Indiana’s rural communities. Spartz claimed on Fox News the upcoming investments on childcare, universal Pre-K, Indiana’s HIP 2.0 Medicaid program, and tax cuts for Indiana families (via the Child Tax Credit) would increase taxes on Hoosiers. The kicker: this is a partisan lie and has been debunked by 17 Nobel Prize-winning economists who affirmed President Biden’s Build Back Better agenda would cut taxes for Hoosiers and “ease longer-term inflationary pressures”.
Victoria Spartz represents an Indiana Republican Party that has said “NO” to a better future for Hoosier families. Their extreme partisanship has folks like Victoria Spartz describing the most-pressing issues facing voters — such as broadband, universal Pre-K, roads and bridges, and tax cuts – as “social spending” or “socialism” despite campaigning on the very issues themselves. The INGOP’s willingness to politicize issues like clean water make it clear they value misinformation and extreme partisanship than delivering a better tomorrow for the Hoosier State.
In contrast, Indiana Democrats are visiting small towns across the state to tout how the American Rescue Plan, Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal, and overall Build Back Better agenda is creating a better future for rural Hoosiers. The Democrats’ “Small Town, Indiana” tour has crisscrossed Indiana and will include stops this week in Wheatfield, Jasper, and Connersville. Hoosiers wanted action, and Democrats delivered for them when it mattered most.
SHOT: Victoria Spartz claims President Joe Biden’s Build Back Better agenda will give Hoosiers a tax hike
“Inflation is a highly regressive tax. If you think about what these prices are doing to middle-class and lower income people, it’s actually destroying opportunity for them.” – Congresswoman Victoria Spartz, WIBC

Fortune: 17 Nobel Prize–winning economists back Biden’s $3.5 trillion Build Back Better plan
“Because this agenda invests in long-term economic capacity and will enhance the ability of more Americans to participate productively in the economy, it will ease longer-term inflationary pressures.”
NWI Times: “Hoosiers living in eight of Indiana’s nine congressional districts would see their federal tax burden go down if the Democratic-controlled Congress enacts Democratic President Joe Biden’s American Families Plan and American Jobs Plan.
That’s the conclusion of a new analysis by the Tax Foundation, a nonpartisan Washington, D.C. think tank that generally opposes high tax rates and tax increases.”
