INDIANAPOLIS — In yet another sign of how out-of-touch he is with Hoosiers, Congressman Todd Young once praised bad trade deals with Mexico — the type of deals that allowed Carrier to abruptly ship jobs overseas and leave more than 1,000 Hoosiers behind.
Congressman Young’s remarks, when he spoke out against any safeguards on free trade, is a radical view that is potentially devastating to Hoosier workers.
“Congressman Young’s support for unrestricted trade with countries like Mexico and China is not just dangerous to Hoosiers, but is another example of how out-of-touch he truly is with the state,” said John Zody, Chairman. “This video is part of a pattern including Todd Young’s opposition to the auto rescue, which saved over 100,000 Hoosiers jobs, and vote against programs to help Hoosier workers who have been laid-off because of outsourcing. Congressman Young has a long history of working against Hoosiers – proving once again that given the chance, he’d put Washington, D.C. over places like Washington, Indiana every time.”
