INDIANAPOLIS – Rep. Braun’s company’s health care plan has deductibles of $10,000 for Hoosier families, burdening them with brutal costs that could be better spent elsewhere despite his lies about offering “affordable health care.”
Rep. Braun has repeatedly talked up his company’s health care plan on the campaign trail, and even gone as far as to claim he would try to use it as a nationwide model if elected. Yet multiple reports have shown that Rep. Braun’s health care plan charges deductibles of up to $10,000 for families — nearly half the salary before tax of many of his employees.
To demonstrate just what that money would mean for a Hoosier family if they didn’t have to spend it on their deductible, we’ve compiled a list of expenses and items that Rep. Braun’s employees and their families would be able to buy if they weren’t burdened with his “horrendous” health care plan.
“A family vacation, money for a mortgage, payments for college tuition — Hoosier families could be putting their money to such better use if they didn’t have to worry about Rep. Braun’s $10,000 deductibles,” said Michael Feldman, spokesman for the Indiana Democratic Party. “If Rep. Braun cared about providing affordable insurance he wouldn’t brag about making his employees pay thousands of dollars out-of-pocket for their deductibles, and he certainly wouldn’t support every GOP-led effort to make health care more expensive.”
