INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana Democratic Party Chairman John Zody issued the following statement after Secretary of State Lawson and Governor Holcomb refused to clarify who can vote by mail.
“The Indiana Election Commission must meet to define clearly which Hoosiers at high-risk from COVID-19 can vote by mail. This is a matter of potential life or death for some. It’s reckless and cowardly to fail to provide vital clarity to Hoosiers. That Secretary Lawson would so flippantly refuse to make eligibility clear signals Republicans’ true intentions: deny the ballot box to as many Hoosiers as possible and force them to make risky choices to exercise a Constitutionally-protected right.”
