INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana Democratic Party Chairman John Zody issued the following statement calling on Secretary of State Connie Lawson and others to publicly denounce Attorney General Curtis Hill’s attempt to derail additional satellite voting locations in Marion County.
“Indiana Republicans should stop hiding behind legal maneuvering and just admit the truth: they don’t want people to vote. Attorney General Hill’s injunction is yet another sign that the GOP will stop at nothing to deny Hoosiers this right. Expanded early vote sites in Marion County were created and agreed upon in a proper manner, by order of a federal judge. I am calling on Secretary of State Connie Lawson and all leaders of the Indiana Republican Party to publicly denounce this blatant attempt at voter suppression. Anything else will be silent agreement that a significant portion of Hoosiers should be stopped from exercising their Constitutional right to vote.”
