INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana Democratic Party Chairman John Zody issued the following statement after Speaker Brian Bosma and his GOP colleagues detailed their 2019 legislative agenda.
“House Republicans unveiled an agenda so out of touch, it’s like we’re living in two different states. Statehouse Republicans’ teacher pay scheme is like moving a dollar from your left pocket to your right. It might feel good, but it isn’t having a real impact. At a time when the cost of health care is increasing nearly five times faster than wages, House Republicans can’t or won’t find answers for working Hoosiers. With supermajorities and the governor, Statehouse Republicans could usher through big, bold reform to tackle Indiana’s nearly dead last quality of life. Instead, after nearly a decade in complete control, Statehouse GOP seem content thinking small.”
