INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana Democratic Party Chairman John Zody issued the following statement upon passage of Senate Enrolled Act 404.
“On the campaign trail, Governor Eric Holcomb repeatedly asserted he would focus exclusively on economic issues. In fact, in an interview just last week, Holcomb said he was “laser-focused’[1] on these issues and was “not going to be distracted”[2] by divisive social issues. This week, Holcomb’s pledge will be put to the test. Republican supermajorities in the House and Senate have pushed through a divisive women’s health bill, inserting the government between patients and their doctors. If Holcomb means what he says, he must veto Senate Enrolled Act 404.”
