Voting on Election Day
Polls are open across Indiana on Election Day, Tuesday, November 5 from 6 AM – 6 PM local time. You can find your polling location at indianavoters.com. Please do not forget your PHOTO ID.
Voting Early/By Mail
In-person absentee voting will be available at the county clerk or voter registration office of your county. Counties have not finalized in-person absentee voting (early voting) schedules. Check your voter portal at indianavoters.com to find locations when posted. Early voting will begin Tuesday, October 8 across Indiana.
You can click here to download the form if you would like to vote by mail. You must meet one of the listed excuses, and provide your state ID/driver’s’ license number, your unique voter ID number found on your voter acknowledgement card, the last four digits of your SSN, or provide a photocopy of your ID. Please mail or hand deliver the completed application to your applicable county office listed on the second page of the document.
You can also request an absentee ballot through your voter portal at indianavoters.com. Counties must send out their first batch of approved absentee ballots by Saturday, September 21.
Acceptable forms of PHOTO ID for voting
Indiana accepts a valid photo ID issued by the State of Indiana or the Federal Government. The ID must include an expiration date. Here are the acceptable forms of photo ID:
- Current Indiana Drivers’ License or Photo ID Card, or one that expired on or after Nov. 8, 2022
- US Passport or Passport Card
- US Military/Indiana National Guard Photo ID (does not need expiration date)
- College or university photo ID card from an Indiana state school with an expiration date on or after Nov. 8, 2022.
